Thayer Ordering Form...Just Pin A One Dollar Bill!

I think all shopping should revert immediately to the method described on this form: "Just check what you want and pin a one dollar bill to this letter." I wonder if Amazon.com would go for this idea.

I had never heard of any of the authors listed on this form. The name I decided to search for was Louis F. Christianer. While Louis was a prolific author of tricks, and seemed well regarded among his peers- in the 1920 book The Magic Art, author Donald Holmes said Christianer's, "fertile brain has contributed many good things to magic." Yet for all of the wonderful things people say, and how inspiring and lasting his impact in magic seemed to be, no one mentions anything about the actual man or his past. Did he go by a different name maybe?

Not much to research here, but I thought readers might enjoy this Thayer envelope, and I was excited to find the blank ordering form inside:

A Revised List of Magical Books & Publications

From June of 1920. I am noticing that whoever was writing copy for Thayer had a hard time being concise- but this is, after all, supplement no. 2 to catalogue no. 4!

The inside reads like a "what to find on ebay" list of magic books from the time period. I did a few random searches from the list and here was what I was able to find for sale:

• You can find a copy of Hoffman's Later Magic for $450.00 on amazon.com.
• This store is selling Burling Hull's Modern Handkerchief Act for only $35.00.
• You can read The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin via google books.

Notice of Change In Prices

This made me laugh. How many of us have received this kind of notice before? I couldn't find a picture of a No. 23 Card Windlass, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.
